How to cook oatmeal on the stove

Ingredient List For Stovetop Oatmeal

Old Fashioned Oats

Old-fashioned oats (also called rolled oats) are the heart of this recipe. They cook quickly while maintaining a satisfying texture, creating creamy oatmeal with just a slight chew.

Brown Sugar

Brown sugar adds a rich, caramel-like sweetness that complements the oats and enhances the flavor of any toppings. Substitute with honey, maple syrup, or coconut sugar or your preferred sweetener. Want to cut down on sugar? Add mashed banana or applesauce for sweetness instead.

Water

For extra creaminess, substitute half or all of the water with milk or a non-dairy alternative like almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk.
